Brandon Rios predicts Pacquiao win over Broner on points or late round stoppage

Ex-Pacquiao foe Brandon Rios predicts a win on points or late round stoppage by Manny Pacquiao over Adrien Broner when the two famous boxers collide in January in Las Vegas, Nevada, for the WBA welterweight title.

Rios?s prediction is supported by several boxers of the Mayweather Boxing Club and other famous boxing personalities including boxing trainer Jeff Mayweather.

Pacquiao (60-7-2, 39 KOs) is coming off a knockout win over Lucas Matthysse of Argentina last July 15 at the Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia while Broner is yet to earn a victory after losing to Danny Garcia by unanimous decision in July 2017 at the Barclays Center in New York. Broner?s comeback fight this year was a majority draw against Jessie Vargas.

??You know what I think, Pacquiao will beat him. It depends on what Broner (turns up). I see Pacquiao beating him on points or maybe a stoppage in the late rounds. I don?t see the same Broner as the guy that he was once. I think (Marcos) Maidana took that out of him. I don?t see that him (a younger Broner) anymore,? Rios told FyteHype.com.

Broner (33-3-1-1, 24 KOs) was unstoppable in the early stage of his career with an unbeaten record of 28-0, until he was schooled by Marcos Maidana in 2013 at the Alamodome in Texas where he lost his WBA welterweight title.

Broner?s loss to Maidana must have something to do with his performance in his succeeding fights as he failed to win by knockout over his past three opponents. He also suffered another loss to former Pacquiao sparring partner Shawn Porter in 2015 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nev.

His record prior to the Maidana fight was marked by many knockout wins. Broner scored two successive KO wins after his loss to Porter and settled for a split decision win against Adrian Granados before losing to Mikey Garcia last July.
Rios could be attributing his predictions to Broner?s ability to prepare for his upcoming fights as the 29-year-old Cincinnati native has been reported to have hinted at committing suicide in his Instagram posts that may have something to do with his activities outside of boxing.
Broner is a tough and talented fighter and if he puts his mind and heart into his training, he can give Pacquiao a competitive fight.

Meanwhile, Pacquiao is set to fly to the UK over the weekend for speaking engagement as he prepares for a US tour to promote his fight against Broner before settling down for his intense training in Manila and the US for the next eight weeks leading up to his January 19 fight.

A win by Pacquiao over Broner could set him up with a lucrative rematch against Floyd Mayweather, Jr. possibly in May next year.
