NBA FEATS, FACTS AND FIGURES 1: JAMES WILL BREAK HIS RECORD OF 100 GAMES IN A SEASON

PhilBoxing.com

Lebron James, now in his 15th year in the NBA, will break his own record for most games played in a single regular season plus playoff games when he plays for his 101st game Thursday in Game 1 of the NBA Finals 2018. His previous record was 100 games in the 2010-11 season. He was playing his first season with the Miami Heat and the game feat ended when they lost to the Dallas Mavericks in Game 6 of the Finals.

The Warriors and Cavaliers are the first teams in any of the four major North American sports - baseball, football, basketball and hockey - to face in four consecutive championship games. The NBA's average attendance of 17,987 per game in 2017-18 was a record. The recent East and West conference finals were the league's most watched in six years and second-most watched in the past 16 years, according to the Nielsen data announced by the NBA.

Seven players will play in all four Cavaliers-Warriors Finals. They are Lebron James, Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, Klay Thompson, Shaun Livingston, JR Smith, Tristan Thompson. If Andre Iguodala will be able to return to play in any of the games of the series he will become the eighth player to play in the four Finals.

In a nine-day span in December and January, the Cavs lost nine of 12 games. They suffered a 28-point loss in Minnesota, a 34-point loss in Toronto and a disastrous home defeat allowing 148 points to the Oklahoma City Thunder.

When the Cavaliers defeated the Boston Celtics in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals, James reached the NBA Finals for the eighth straight year, and no other player had done it since the members of the early Celtics dynasty in the 1960s.

James was chosen as one of the five players on the 2018 All-NBA First Team setting an NBA record 12th First Team selection.

In Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals, Kevin Durant scored 37 points in a 119?106 win over the Houston Rockets. In Game 2, he had 38 points when they lost 127?105. With 25 points in a 126?85 Game 3 win, Durant accomplished his 20th straight playofd game with 20 or more points. In Game 7, Durant poured in 34 points, as the Warriors returned to the NBA Finals in a come-from-behind victory over the Rockets 101?92.

Durant set a new career high for blocks in a season, finishing with 108 to break his 105 blocks in 2012?13.
