NBA -- Celtics hold off Sixers, 108-97

BOSTON ? ​The Boston Celtics thwarted the upstart Philadelphia 76ers 108-97 on Wednesday night at the TD ​Garden.

​The Celtics broke away from a 67-67 third quarter tie and pounced on a weary Sixers team that had played their third game in four nights. ​

​Kyrie Irving led Boston with 36 ​while Al Horford added 21 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists.. Marcus Morris ​contributed ​17 points and 5 rebounds and Jayson Tatum finish​ed​ with 15 points.

​Dario ​Saric led the losing side with 18 points and 10 rebounds, guard JJ Redick added 17 points and 5 assists ​while Ben ​Simmons chipped in 15 points and 7 assists.

The 76ers fell to 12-9 with the loss while the Celtics
​continues to lead the league ​​with a 19-4 slate.
