2017 NBA Finals --- Kevin Durant 3 brings Warriors 1 game away from title (PHOTOS)

PhilBoxing.com

CLEVELAND -- Kevin Durant nailed a 3 from 26 feet to give the Golden State Warriors the lead for good as they rallied late to take Game 3 of the NBA Finals, 118-113, Wednesday night at the Quicken Loans Arena.

Down 113-107 with 2:25 to go, things appeared bleak for the Warriors, but the defending champions Cavs couldn't close the show as the Warriors went on a game-ending 11-0 run.

Durant finished with 31 points, making 10-of-18 from the field and 4-of-7 from long distance.

"He took over. You can tell, he knows this is his moment. He's been an amazing player in this league for a long time, and he senses this is his time, his moment, his team," Warriors head coach Steve Kerr told reporters during the post-game press conference.

The Warriors, leading the best-of-7 championship series 3-0 can wrap things up Friday night (Saturday morning in Manila) when the Cavaliers host Game 4 at the Quicken Loans Arena. The Warriors are undefeated in these playoffs, setting a record with a 15-0 slate.

"I've never been in this position before. I don't want to relax. It's not over. This is a crazy game. Anything can happen. So I don't want to relax or feel like it's over, it's not," Durant said.

As brilliant was Durant was, the Warriors' victory was far from a one-man show as Steph Curry registered 26 points while and Klay Thompson, who carried much of the load in the opening half, finished with 30.

Draymond Green had another all-around performance with 8 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Golden State shot 48.2 percent from the field (40-of-83) 48.5 percent from 3-point range (16-of-33). They also made 22 of their 24 free throws.

LeBron James was superb once again, carding 39 points, 11 rebounds and 9 assists on 15 of 27 shooting. Kyrie Irving had 38 points while J.R. Smith added 16. But Kevin Love struggled mightily with just 9 points, going 1-for-9 from the field.

Trailing 67-61 at the half, the Cavaliers won the third quarter, 33-22. but they were outscored 29-19 in the final 12 minutes.
