Another Pinoy fighter wins overseas: Megrino knocks out Japanese foe in Hong Kong
By Rich Mazon PhilBoxing.com Sun, 12 Mar 2017

Riding high from the upset victory of Romero Duno in Los Angeles, Philippine boxing notched another win on the road when Filipino slugger, Rey "Delubyo" Megrino made easy work of his Japanese opponent in Hong Kong, China.
The 30 year old fighter from Misamis Occidental knocked out Yuki Strong Kobayashi (10-7-0, 5 KOs) of Osaka Japan in only 23 seconds of their scheduled eight round super bantamweight bout at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center.
Starting the fight with jabs as instructed by his corner, Megrino then threw a strong right hook to Kobayashi's head and that sent the Japanese fighter down and out for good in the opening round.
An initial look at Megrino's record of 24-20-4 (21 KOs) is discouraging but the Pinoy fighter out of Benguet's Highland Boxing is riding on a 10-fight winning streak. Eight of his last ten fights are by stoppage, six of them he fought overseas.
Megrino and Kobayashi fought in the undercard of Hong Kong star Rex Tso, who was also victorious by knocking out Japanese Hirofumi Mukai in the 8th.
Two Filipino fighters also fought against each other in the same card. Mark Anthony Geraldo of Bukidnon won the vacant WBO Oriental bantamweight belt with a 10 round UD nod over Cebu City's Kenny Demecillo.
