TSO AND MUKAI MAKE WEIGHT, DEMECILLO AND GERALDO SET FOR HK BATTLE

HONG KONG ? Hometown hero Rex Tso and Japan?s Hirofumi Mukai both made the division limit of 115lbs during the official weigh-in for the highly anticipated twelve round battle billed as ?Clash of Champions II?.

Tso (20W-0L,12KO?s) holds the WBO international and WBC Asia super flyweight titles while Mukai (13W-4L-3D,3KO?s) bears the WBO Asia Pacific super flyweight belt. Tso will be risking his number one world contender ranking while Mukai will be gunning to avenge to loss of his countryman Ryuto Maekawa who lost a unanimous verdict to Tso last October. They will square off Saturday March 11 at the Hong Kong Exhibition and Convention Center.

The supporting main event is a crossroads All-Filipino affair that had boxing pundits in Cebu salivating the moment it was announced. Kenny Demecillo of the Omega Gym of Cebu, known for his crowd pleasing ?take no prisoners? fighting style is set for the biggest challenge in his young career when he squares off against former world ranked contender Mark Anthony Geraldo for the WBO Oriental bantamweight title.

Demecillo (12-3-2,7KO?s) is the current WBF Asia-Pacific bantamweight titlist. He owns two TKO wins against a former up and coming prospect Daryl Basadre and a split draw against former IBO world titlist Edrin Dapudong. Geraldo (33-7-3,15KO?s) remains the only boxer who has beaten the current IBF world super flyweight champion Jerwin Ancajas.

Geraldo also spent a month in Hong Kong as one of Rex Tso?s sparring partners.

Demecillo weighed 117 lbs while Geraldo was half a pound heavier. They are penned to fight for ten rounds.

The official weigh-in was held at Olympian City in Hong Kong. Supervising the WBO bouts will be WBO Asia Pacific chief Leon Panoncillo.

For the rest of the undercards:

Phun Kumat (Thailand) vs Takuya Watanabe (Japan) ? both 129 lbs- 8 rounds, Tom Taw (159lbs) vs Tsun Yin Jeremy Lee (160lbs) ? 4 rounds, Raymond Poon vs Tat Fai Yiu ? both 108lbs ? 6 rounds.

The third Filipino on the card, Rey Migreno, will fight Yuki Strong Kobayashi (Japan) in an eight round non-title contest. Migreno weighed 121lbs, Kobayashi 122lbs.

Wai Hung Tong (121lbs) vs Sures Gurung of Nepal (122lbs) ? 4 rounds, Shun On Chan (122) vs Pak Tsung Cheung (121) ? 4 rounds and Kan Sun Leung vs Edwin Ng ? both 121lbs- 4 rounds.

The bouts will be supervised by the Professional Boxing Commission, Intl.
