Ancajas TKOs Rodriguez in the 8th round to Successfully Defend Title

IBF junior bantamweight champion Jerwin Ancajas (26-1-1, 17 KOs) successfully defended his title by an 8th round TKO over Mexican challenger Jose Alfredo Rodriguez (32-5, 19 KOs).
At the start of the 8th round, Rodriguez refused to go to the center of the ring to fight. He claimed a shoulder injury and the fight was stopped even before punches were exchanged.
From the 1st up to the end of the 7th round, Jerwin was scoring at will with jabs, straights and uppercuts. Clearly, Jerwin dominated Rodriguez.
It was Jerwin's first defense of his title he won by way of a dominating 12-round unanimous decision over Puerto Rican McJoe Arroyo last 3 September 2016 at the Philippine Navy gym in Taguig City, Philippines.
