NBA -- Bulls toppled Magic on the road, 100-92 By Adeline Deladisma PhilBoxing.com Thu, 26 Jan 2017 ![]() ORLANDO -- The Chicago Bulls overcame a lackluster first quarter and put together a 100-92 win over host Orlando Magic at the Amway Center on Tuesday night (Wednesday morning Manila time). The Magic led by as many as 8 points in the first quarter and closed the first stanza up 22-20. Chicago shot only 37.5% in the opening frame, but then regrouped to outscore Orlando in the second, leading 52-49 at the half. The Bulls would maintain that lead throughout the second half as the Magic were unable to muster a serious rally. As if it were something in the Florida air that brings out the best in Dwyane Wade, the veteran posted 21 points, 7 rebounds, and 7 steals after a slow shooting start. Wade slithered, shimmied and floated his way to some spectacular shots, showing a seasoned persistence in his approach to his game. Afterwards, he commented, "if you don't stay with it, then you are never getting out of it. I have shot a lot of shots and they didn't go in and I have made a lot?. I can be zero for 19 and think I am going to make the 20th." All Star starter Jimmy Butler added another 20 points and 8 rebounds for the Bulls. Cristiano Felicio had the only double-double of the night with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Chicago also got a lift from Doug McDermott, who scored 12 points off of 4 of 6 three point shooting, all during the Bulls' second quarter run. All five Orlando starters were in double figures, led by Nikola Vucevic and Serge Ibaka who had 20 and 16 points, respectively. With the win, the Bulls pull themselves back to 0.500 (23-23), good for 7th place in the Eastern Conference. They next face the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday at home, hoping to avenge last week's beating in which they were behind by as many as 34 points. The Orlando Magic (18-29) travel to Boston where they face the Celtics (26-18) on Friday.
