Dubai, UAE ? Filipino expat Larry Abarra will be pitted against Isaac Netty of Ghana this Friday at the Ahdaaf Sports Club in Dubai. This will be Abarra?s second appearance this year after beating Natthapong Singsanan of Thailand by first round knockout last June at the same venue.
The 29 year old Abarra (5W-2L-1D,4KO?s) hails from Zambales. He started his career in the Philippines with five fights before moving to Dubai. The 33 year old Netty (23-11-1,12KO?s) will have experience on his side but he has lost three of his last five bouts.
Abarra was at 122 lbs during the official weigh-in while Netty was at 126lbs. They are set to fight for ten rounds.
Also set to see action are Deo Kizito (3-0,2KO?s) of Uganda vs. Evgeny Vazem (5-3,2KO?s) of Russia. Last June, Kizito knocked out Thai Boonsom Phothong in three rounds while Vazem won a split verdict against another Russian, He Su Khan last month. Kizito weighed 135.5lbs while Vazem was 137.7lbs.
There will be three more pro bouts ? Lasisi Aliu of Nigeria vs Gyula Dodu of Hungary, Rohen Date of the U.K. vs Stephen Okine of Ghana and Nicholas Mwangi of Kenya vs Azizi Zafar of Tanzania.
The fights will be officiated by the Professional Boxing Commission (PBC), International.
