ADONES AGUELO VS. RODEL WENCESLAO IN MAASIN CITY

PhilBoxing.com

Aguelo.

Adones Aguelo will face Rodel Wenceslao in a ten-round lightweight encounter at the Maasin City Gym. The boxing card will be held on Friday, November 18, 2016 before Aguelo's kababayans.

Aguelo's last fight was against Richard Betos last August 16, 2016 in the Maasin City Fiesta Boxing Extravaganza.

Aguelo dominated Betos from the first round until he stopped him with combinations to the body and head in the fourth round at the Maasin City Gym. Aguelo showed amazing brawn and dexterity to the amazement of the home fans.

Betos countered with some upper cuts and straights but most of them just hit the air. Aguelo?s solid fortress was just too hard to break through.

The Barobo, Surigao del Sur native tasted the sting of the Philippine Boxing Federation super featherweight champ's punches in the third round and he began to clinch. He had been running away from Aguelo?s blows right from the start.

The former Asian Boxing Council interim super bantamweight champion Betos kissed the canvas early in the fourth round never to get up. Referee Tony Pesons counted him out and declared Aguelo the winner by knockout just 44 seconds of the fourth canto.

Aguelo fought some of the best international fighters of his superfeatherweight division like Colombian Miguel Marriaga, American Casey Ramos, Australian Will Tomlison, and Mexican Sergio Thompson and fought a good fight inspite of his losses.

Wenceslao had an impressive win over Chinese boxer Wang Kunby knockout in the first round of their scheduled eight rounder in Xiangzhou Province, China.

An overhand right by the Leyte native found its way to Wang Kun?s head, and the perfect punch sent the Chinese down to the canvas. Wang, a Chinese boxing champion, became very wobbly when he got up to beat the referee?s count.

The fight was stopped at the 2:13 mark of the first round when Wang was declared too dizzy to continue fighting.

Wang Kun suffered his second loss with four wins with a knockout win. He previously defeated two Filipino boxers, Christian Abila and Romeo Jakosalem.

In his latest bout, Wenceslao lost to Adones Cabalquinto by unanimous decision in Davao City last June 4, 2016.

In the supporting bouts, Elias Joaquino will face Jonathan Ricablanca in an eight-round flyweight bout.

Anthony Sabalde will fight Anthony Galiga in an eight rounder in the super featherweight division.

Kenjiro Naito will encounter with Jonard Tabar in a four-round super flyweight fight.

Amateur bouts featuring elite boxers will serve as curtain raisers officiated by the Southern Leyte Boxing Association, an affiliate of ABAP.

The card is sponsored by the City Government of Maasin, Rex Wakee Salud International and Naris Singwangcha Promotions.
