FIGHT ON, MANNY
By Maloney L. Samaco PhilBoxing.com Mon, 07 Nov 2016

"Fight On." These are the words emblazoned on the shirt of Team Pacquiao. Manny Pacquiao won the world welterweight title for the fourth time by a unanimous decision over Las Vegas boy Jessie Vargas.
He failed to stop the opponent ten years his junior but did floor him in the second round with his vaunted left straight. Fans wanted a KO but it was not meant to happen even if Pacquiao tried his best.
Pacquiao became the only senator to win a world boxing title. He did it as a congressman too. But this time without missing his legislative duties with a perfect attendance so far. Balancing equally his political and sporting careers.
Though his punches and speed were not as powerful as they were in his 20's, but they are still dreaded by many boxers as they clinched and backpedalled when they tasted their sting.
Many criticized him for returning to boxing from a brief retirement. But the great majority were delighted. He was still our Pambansang Kamao and no other boxer has shown the same potential in the horizon.
A long list of probable opponents were enumerated after the victory and even before the fight day. One of them was Floyd Mayweather who appeared on the ringside.
Yes, Manny fought for the money. Even presidents and kings need financial resources in order to live. But for Pacquiao a great slice goes to the poor and the needy. The more he receives the more he gives.
A true public servant who uses his own private funds to alleviate people's lives. He used his own sweat, blood and tears so others may be benefited.
Fight on, Manny Pacquiao and make people happy. Never mind the critics. Even Christ was not spared from detractors who even crucified him.
