PAGARA BROTHERS CO-STAR IN PINOY PRIDE 39

PhilBoxing.com

Pagara brothers Jason "El Ni?o" and "Prince" Albert will return to the ring anew as they face separate foreign opponents for Pinoy Pride 39 on on November 26 at the Cebu Coliseum. The main event will be the IBF interim world light flyweight title fight between Milan ?El Metodico? Melindo and Fahlan Sakkreerin Jr. of Thailand.

Jason who has 39 wins, 2 losses, with 24 KO wins will shoot for his thirteenth straight win when he faces former WBA world lightweight champion Jose "Quibera Jicara" Alfaro of Nicaragua in the ten-round co-main event.

Because of his striking third-round knockout win over Mexican Abraham Alvarez in San Mateo, California in July, the Cagayan de Oro City-born Jason Pagara will be second in the top billing as he shoots for a world title if he seizes an impressive victory.

Alfaro with 28 wins, 10 losses, 1 draw, with 24 KO wins came off from a loss to Pedro Campa last April. Alfaro became world champion in 2007 after winning the vacant WBA belt via split decision over Thailand's Prawet Singwancha. He lost the world title the following year against Yusuke Korobi by TKO in Japan.

Meanwhile, Albert Pagara makes a comeback fight against Raymond Commey of Ghana. The Maasin City-born Pagara won his first 26 professional fights, but suffered his first setback to the tough Mexican Cesar Juarez who momentarily halted Albert?s dream for a world title. Still too young at 22-years old, expect the younger Pagara to make a remarkable return.

The 29-year old Commey with 16 wins, 3 losses, with 9 KO wins is the current WBA Pan African super bantamweight champion, and has won 14 of his last 15 bouts. He challenged but lost to XiaoJun Qiu via unanimous decision for the WBA International super bantamweight title in February this year in China in his only fight outside of Ghana so far.

His latest fight was a TKO win over countryman and namesake Raymond Ansah in Accra, Ghana. Commey hopes to become Ghana?s next world champion and the fight with Albert is his stepping stone. But Albert also wanted very much to be back on track for a world title and Commey is his stepping stone.

The other ALA Gym standouts who will fight in Pinoy Pride 39 are Jeo "Santino" Santisima (11-2-0, 10 KO?s), Kevin Jake "KJ" Cataraja (4-0-0, 3 KO?s), and Jimmy "Popeye" Paypa (18-3-0, 6 KO?s).
