DUNO AND GABALLO KO THAIS IN TUPI By Rene Bonsubre, Jr. PhilBoxing.com Sat, 10 Sep 2016 TUPI, SOUTH COTABATO - Romero "Dynamite" Duno exploded in the opening seconds of the fight and decked Paiboon Lorkam with a swift combo into the neutral corner. Lorkam, who fights using the name Maxsaisai Sithsaithong, managed to get up but was at the receiving end of Duno?s right uppercut, which continued till the second round. Duno staggered the Thai with the uppercut thrown off the jab and sent him down twice. The third knockdown of the fight saw Lorkam deposited near the same neutral corner. He was counted out at 2:14 of the second round. Duno received the WBC ABCO super featherweight title and his team, together with Sanman Promotions CEO Jim Claude Manangquil and Sanman CFO Dexter Tan, celebrated inside the ring. The fight served as the main event and capped a Saturday night of knockouts at the Tupi Municipal Gym. Reymart ?Assassin? Gaballo remained undefeated and garnered the WBC ABCO super bantamweight belt when he knocked out another Thai boxer, Manot Comput a.k.a. Yodpichai Sithsaithong in the first round. Comput was on unsteady legs when Gaballo landed his first hard left hook. A booming one-two combo sent the Thai down for the count. Time 1:49. Reymart Gaballo's hand raised victorious Gaballo is now 14W-0L,13KO?s while his stable mate Duno (11-1,10KO?s) recovers from his only loss, a unanimous verdict in Russia at the hands of Mikhail Alexeev for the vacant WBO Youth super featherweight title last May 6. Supervising the WBC Asian Boxing Council bouts was Dr. Nasser Cruz. For the undercard matches: ?Magic? Mike Plania showcased his whiplash jab and dazzling hand speed against Jhon Rey de Asis. In the second round , Plania landed a sneaky left to the liver and De Asis was down for the count. Time ? 39 seconds. 'Magic' Mike Plania Plania is now 12-0,5KO?s while De Asis drops to his second career loss against six wins and a draw. John Vincent Moralde (right) stalks Hagibis Quinones John Vincent ?Mulawin? Moralde (17W-0,8KO?s) also kept his unbeaten record after knocking out Hagibis Quinones with two hard left hooks in succession to the ribs at 2:57 of round one. Engelbert Moralde beat Jun Eraham by unanimous decision after six rounds. Scores ? 58-56,59-55 and 59-55. In the opening pro bout of the evening, Jayson Mama knocked down Roger Salaton in the opening round and cruised to a unanimous decision win. Scores ? 40-35,40-35 and 39-36. Fans were entertained with amateur bouts when the gates opened including an exhibition bout between two female boxers which saw a visiting Australian beat a local fighter. The card billed as ?Battle in Tupi? was presented by Sanman Promotions and coincided with the Foundation day celebrations of the municipality of Tupi in South Cotabato.
