2016 RIO OLYMPICS: BOXING RESULTS AS SUMMER GAMES CLOSE By Maloney L. Samaco PhilBoxing.com Mon, 22 Aug 2016 The XXXI Olympiad came to a close in a carnival-inspired closing ceremony at the Macarana Stadium at Rio de Janeiro, Brazil featuring the formal turnover of the Olympic flag to Tokyo, Japan, host of the 2020 Games. International Olympic Committee president Thomas Bach officially closed the Summer Games after 16 days of competition, featuring 11,303 athletes from 206 nations and a refugee team.
