NBA -- Kobe goes out of with a bang in Houston

HOUSTON -- Although the Houston Rockets overwhelmed the Los Angeles Lakers last Sunday at the Toyota Center, 130-110, the one-sided contest still proved to be a treat for the 18,442 fans in attendance.
The event happened to be Kobe Bryant's last game in Houston and the Laker superstar did not disappoint, thrilling hs loyal faithful with a 35-point effort.
As is the case wherever he goes in this "farewell tour" fans, many clad in purple-and-gold Lakers jersey, loudly chanted Kobe's name. The 18-time All-Star played for 27 minutes and added one assist and a pair of rebounds to his haul.
Asked by a reporter if anyone should be surprised that he scored 35 prior to retirement Kobe said, "No." When pressed why, he added, "You know me."
Jordan Clarkson also played well for the Lakers with 21 points, eight rebounds and four assists but it was James Harden who stole the show with 40 points to lead the Rockets. Trevor Ariza and Patrick Beverley logged in 19 points each for Houston.
