IF TALAVERA RUNS, PAGARA VOWS TO STALK HIM, CATCH HIM AND KNOCK HIM OUT By Ronnie Nathanielsz PhilBoxing.com Fri, 26 Feb 2016 WBO Intercontinental junior featherweight champion Prince Albert Pagara has a straigtforward game plan for his title defense against Nicaragua's bantamweight champion Yesner Talavera according to trainer Edmund Villamor. After the official weigh-in at the plush Atrium of Robinson's Galeria in Cebu where both fighters looked ripped and ready and made the 122 pound weight limit without trouble, Villamor told The Standard that they are ready for anything that Talavera, who is handled by former two-division world champion Rosendo Alvarez, brings. Villamor told us if Talavera runs, Prince Albert will stalk him, catch him and knock him out. He said if the Nicaraguan champion decides to stand and engage, Villamor predicted Pagara's power will prevail and the result will be the same but more exciting for fight fans who are expected to fill the Waterfront Hotel andCasino for ALA Promotions' "Pinoy Pride 35" presentation of "Stars of the Future" in cooperation with the giant broadcast network ABS-CBN. Villamor revealed that Pagara sparred with opponents who were quick and back-pedaled and others who stood and fought back in preparation for another major test to retain his title and an unbeaten record of 25 wins with 18 knockouts. Talavera said he is confident of winning by using his hand-speed and footwork to pile up the points and take home the belt. In another exciting bout, WBO Youth featherweight champion Mark "Magnifico" Magsayo battles Mexico's Eduardo "Fierita" Montoya, younger brother of Rosbel Montoya who beat Pagara's elder brother Jason who avenged the loss with a 6th round TKO. Both Magsayo and Montoya came in at an identical 123 pounds with Magsayo exuding confidence and predicted a knockout. Prince Albert and Magsayo are on the fringes of world title fights and Villamor expects both promising youngsters to prevail and edge closer to world title challenges.
