METUDA TARGETS WBA OCEANIA TITLE

Super featherweight prospect Rimar Metuda of the Sanman Gym is in the midst of preparations for his first overseas outing and a shot at another regional title. Sanman Promotions CEO Jim Claude ?JC? Manangquil informed philboxing that the 21 year old Metuda
(9W-0L,4KO?s) will fight in Kunming, China on February 12 against Xu Chan (7W-0L) for the WBA Oceania super featherweight belt.
?Metuda is in great condition.? Manangquil told this writer, ?He is sparring with Romero Duno and John Vincent Moralde. He sparred for ten rounds Friday with Duno.?
Metuda garnered the WBF Asia-Pacific featherweight title last
September by stopping Jason Tinampay in five rounds in Gen. Santos City. His last fight was in November, a ten round unanimous win over veteran Jaime Barcelona.
The 21 year old Xu got his WBA Oceania title by beating Thai Chaiyong Sithsaithong also last September by unanimous verdict in Ningbo, China.
He has two wins on the road in Japan and Australia.
