PhilBoxing.com

SHANGHAI, CHINA ? The haze and chilly temperatures of the host city was in stark contrast to the heated action inside the Mercedes-Benz Arena Mixing Room. The second day of a back to back weekend League of Fists fight card had seven bouts ending via the short route.

Han Jie decked Wang Jincai with a powerful volley of punches in the second round. Wang got up but was visibly hurt prompting Referee Mekin Sumon to stop the fight at the 0:31 mark.

Zhao Qi stopped Guo Hao with a hard body shot at 2:32 of round three. Referee Han Hongxiang stopped the fight when Guo dropped his hands in obvious pain after the punch landed.

He Yang turned his back after being pummeled by Liu Yongcai and Referee Sungworn Klunboonkrong stopped the fight at 2:02 of the second round giving Liu the TKO win.

Li Tonghui dominated Maimaiti Keyimu from start to finish and won by unanimous decision.

Judges scores ? Feng Yaocheng ? 40-36, Salven Lagumbay and Yang Hong ? 39-37. Li is now 5-0,3KO?s.

Niu Zhingjie relied on his mobility and southpaw style to befuddle and outpoint Dilixiati Simayi. Niu?s accurate one-two combos and left lead as well as his ability to get out of harm?s way made him win by 40-36 on the scorecards of Zhu Yuwen, Feng Yaocheng and Han Hongxiang.

Niu is now 6-0,2KO?s.

Zhou Bin knocked down Yang Zhengpeng in the opening round but had to contend with a surging Yang in the next two rounds. Yang continued to be aggressive despite a bloodied nose but Zhou managed to hold him off in the final round to win by split decision.

Scores ? Zhao Yubin 38-37 for Yang, Tao Zhendong (39-36) and Yang Hong (40-35) for Zhou.

Luo Qiang utilized a hard right hook to knock down Wulamu Tulake twice in the second round. Referee Atty.Danrex Tapdasan stopped the bout at 0:42 of the 2nd.

Gao Jiyang won by TKO in the opening round against Sun Zhan Guo after Sun was hurt by a punch that hit his right eye. Sun complained of blurring of vision in the said eye. Referee Sungworn Klungboonkrong waived the fight off at the 1:31 mark.

Pan Jinxiang knocked Yin Changjin almost out of the ring and battered him on the ropes when he got up which led to Referee Han Hongxiang to stop the fight at 2:25 of the first round. Pan is now 5-0,3KO?s.

Huang Juxiang knocked down Wu Dong with one-two combos in the first and second rounds prompting Referee Atty. Danrex Tapdasan to call a halt to the bout at 2:31 of the second round.

The League of Fists boxing tournament opened last September and offers back to back fight cards twice a month. The January 9 card involved boxers from bantamweight to super welterweight. The grassroots boxing talent search involves more than eighty fighters from mainland China. It is presented by SECA and TOP RANK. The WBO will crown the tournament winners as the Greater China champions. The bouts were officiated by the Professional Boxing Commission (PBC) of China.
