NBA -- Blake Griffin out at least 2 weeks with quad injury
By Homer D. Sayson PhilBoxing.com Sun, 27 Dec 2015
CHICAGO -- The Los Angeles Clippers, in an emailed press release, announced on Saturday that Blake Griffin has a partially torn left quad tendon and will be sidelined for at least two weeks.
The news is a big blow to the Clippers, who are currently in fourth place in the powerhouse Western Conference, logging just a modest 18-13 record, a whopping 11 games behind the league-leading juggernaut that is the 28-1 Golden State Warriors.
The 6-foot-10, 251-pound Griffin is a five-time All-Star who was picked No.1 by the Clippers in the 2009 NBA draft. Prior to this injury, which was revealed in an MRI, the high-leaping power forward was averaging 23.2 points, 8.7 rebounds and 5 assists in 23 starts.
