WBO Jr. welterweight champ Young Sung Kim of Korea failed to make the 140 lbs limit during today's weigh-in at the Waterfront Hotel & Casino in Cebu City and was stripped of his title.

Kim came in at 144 lbs, over by 4 lbs, both in the first and the second try while his opponent Kongtoranee Por Surasak of Thailand came in at exactly 140 lbs on the first try. Kim and Surasak will still fight in tomorrow's title header and in the event Kim wins, the title will be declared vacant. Should Surasak wins, he will be declared the new WBO Jr. welterweight champion.

Meanwhile defending WBO Minifly title-holder Donnie Nietes of the Philippines made the required weight of 105 lbs on the second try after stepping in at 106 lbs on the first try. His challenger, Seangpetch sor Sakulphan of Thailand came in at 105 lbs on the first try.

For the RP Flyweight Championship, Rocky Fuentes of the ALA stable and Benedict Suico of the Wakee Salud stable both made weight at 112 lbs. The battle between knockout artists Fuentes and Suico is expected to steal the thunder from tomorrow's headliners.

For the special attraction women's boxing event, Kim Bo Young of Korea came in at 118 lbs while Judith Subingsubing of the Philippines came in at 117 lbs.

The weights of the supporting bouts are: Jae Seong Lee (Korea), 123 lbs vs Romy Arima (Indonesia), 122; Moon Byung Joo (Korea), 135 lbs vs Noli Fabroa (Phils), 140 lbs; Jong Hwa Lee (Korea), 109 lbs vs Jimboy Jacinto (Phils), 107 lbs; James Bacon (Mandaue), 129 lbs vs Danilo Logramonte (Butuan), 126; Joseph Von Mi?oza (Cebu City), 115 vs Tata Galendez (Butuan), 116.

SGG Promotions Sammy Gello-ani said that in the event Young Sung Kim beats Kongtoranee Por Surasak and the title declared vacant, a rematch between the two will likely to happen where they will again fight for the title.

Gello-ani said he was elated by the warm response of the Korean and foreign community as shown by the large number of reservations being made for tomorrow's event. Gello-ani also said there is widespread interest on the special attraction women's bout between Korean's Kim Bo Young and Judith Subingsubing. During the weigh-in Young was accompanied by a sizable number of Korean supporters while Subingsubing was escorted by a large ALA boys contigent.

Tomorrow's WBO Asia-Pacific Championship Boxing event which will be held at the Grand Ballroom of the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel & Casino is being brought by SGG Promotions in partnership with BP Promotions of Korea and hosted by the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel & Casino. Solar Sports will cover the event.

Ticket prices are as follows: VIP/Sponsors with reserved seat - P1,500; Ringside 1 - P1,000; Ringside 2 - P500 and Balcony - P350.
