NBA -- Heat metls James-less Cavs (PHOTOS) By Roman David Garay PhilBoxing.com Mon, 07 Dec 2015 MIAMI- Dwyane Wade and the Miami Heat had Lebron James on their minds Saturday night. Ticket prices from StubHub normally at $22 per seat at the upper deck sections at American Airlines Arena were selling at $67 , only to be told by Cleveland Cavaliers head coach David Blatt before the game that Lebron was sitting out this one. Lebron played 45 minutes in an overtime loss to the New Orleans Pelicans Friday night and didn't arrive at their hotel until around 5 am game day. So James was tired and needed the break, but apparently so did the rest of his teammates, the Cavs looked listless in their 99-84 loss to the Miami Heat. The Cavs shot just 36 percent from the field including 6 out of 28 from beyond the arc. Kevin Love scored just 5 points on 2 of 11 shooting. Thirty-five year old veteran Richard Jefferson paced Cleveland with 16 points and J.R Smith added 12 points in their loss. Smith surely felt Lebron's absence in the game, "It's totally different. He's like a coach on the floor on top of being the best player." For Miami? They were obviously disappointed that Lebron didn't play but will obviously still take the win. "It would have been great to play against Lebron. " Wade addressed the media in the Heat locker room. "Our job is to come out regardless of the situation and get a win and be professional." Top photo: LeBron James sporting his championship ring he won when he was with Miami Heat. Miami led as much 27 points in the contest and used its stingy defense to suffocate the already weary lungs of the Cavaliers. "We did a great job of that tonight. The rhythm of this team is coming together. "Wade added as he led a balanced Heat attack with 19 points and 5 rebounds. Sophomore Tyler Johnson added 19 points off the bench and Goran Dragic chipped in 17 points and 8 assists. Cleveland suffered its 10th straight loss in Miami and will look bounce back as they host the Portland Trailblazers Tuesday. The Heat will travel to the nation's capital Monday and face the Washington Wizards. Click here to view a list of other articles written by Roman David Garay. |
