SIZZLING SATURDAY FOR THE LEAGUE OF FISTS

SHANGHAI, CHINA ? Power and skill provided the highlights for the fourth episode of the second round of matches of the League of Fists boxing tournament.

Two fighters ? welterweight Wang Jiancheng and super middleweight Yilixiati Ainiwaer - had the crowd roaring due to their quick stoppage wins.

Wang Jiancheng utilized a sharp jab and a quick powerful right to deck Yang Xinyu in the first round. Yang looked stunned when he got up and his cornerman wisely threw in the towel. Time 2:38.

Wang is now 2-0,2KO?s in the tournament.

Yilixiati Ainiwaer peppered Dong Chaoqun with swift combos before a hard left hook to the liver sent Dong to the canvas on all fours.

Referee Danrex Tapdasan reached the ten count at the 2:46 mark of the opening round. Yilixiati is 2-0,1KO in league matches.

The Saturday night fight card was opened by southpaw Jiang Xin making an impressive League debut with a masterful unanimous decision win against Zhua Xiaozheng. Jiang demonstrated punch accuracy and ring generalship in scoring a shutout win.

Judges Mekin Sumon, Yang Hong and Feng Yao Cheng all had it 40-36.

Wang Yiming won a bruising scrap against Wang Jun.

Scores ? Zhao Yubin ? 40-36, Tao Zhendong ? 39-37, Ji Naibin ? 39-37.

Wang Yingang prevailed by split decision in a hotly contested match against Tao Xiaohao.

Scores ? Zhao Yubin and Danrex Tapdasan had it for Wang at 40-36 and 39-37 respectively while Feng Yao Cheng scored it for Tao at 39-37.

In a rough and tumble match, Chen Xiaolong beat Zhang Xueli by 40-36 on the scorecards of Ji Naibin, Tao Zhendong and Yan Wenyong.

In another fierce supermiddleweight fracas, Zulpikaer Maimaitiali knocked Liu Yang down twice in the first round. But Yang weathered the storm and gave Zulpikaer a real fight in the subsequent rounds.

Zulpikaer hurt Liu with a body punch in the third but Liu continued to trade bombs till the final round.

The scorecards read ? Han Hongxiang and Yan Wenyong ? 40-34, Sungworn Klungboonkrong ? 39-35.

Cheng Bingbing boxed well against Zhang Yifeng?s pressure and got a majority decision win. Surat Soikrachang (39-37) and Zhu Yuwen (40-36) for Cheng, Mekin Sumon had it 38 all.

Abulmiti Tuersunniyazi won by TKO against Liu Yahui in the third round after Liu decided not to continue fighting when he hurt his left elbow. Liu was deducted a point for throwing a Muay Thai back fist in the second round.

The evening was capped by Zheng Wenhao winning by shutout against Liu Pengfei.

40-36 for Judges Zhu Yuwen, Han Hongxiang and Mekin Sumon.

The fights were held in the Mixing Room of the Mercedes Benz Arena and supervised by the Professional Boxing Commission (PBC) of China. The boxers who saw action Saturday were in the featherweight, lightweight, welterweight and super middleweight categories.

The League of Fists pro boxing tournament is presented by SECA and TOP RANK. The WBO will crown the tournament winners as the Greater China champions.

The League will return to Shanghai in November.
