PAGARA BROTHERS AND THE WORLD PART IV By Maloney L. Samaco PhilBoxing.com Mon, 14 Sep 2015 In Maasin City we promoted five fights of Albert Pagara all held at the City Gym. On May 20, 2011 he stopped Anthony Galigao of Bohol by KO in the first round. On August 16, 2011 he defeated Rogen Flores by 4th round TKO. Albert floored him twice in the second round and once in round 4 for the stoppage. On November 21, 2011, Albert sent Henry Acha of Malaybalay, Bukidnon to the canvas never to get up in the third round. On November 15, 2012, Prince Pagara hit Thai Tawanrung Eausampan with devastating combinations in the second causing his collapse and unconsciousness. And on April 11, 2014, Pagara Brothers fought together for the first time inMaasin City against Indonesian foes. Albert took it easy in the first two rounds and demolished Skak "Checkmate" Max in the third round. While Jason went on a blow by blow clash before putting Rasmin Kie Raha on the floor in the seventh round by punches to the body. Probably it was the last time we saw Pagara Brothers fighting together in Maasin because of the international belts that they are holding now. When they become world champions we could not afford their promotions. Every Pagara fight meant a fullhouse City Gym with a capacity of 5,000 spectators. People came in droves especially his villagemates and relatives from Lib-og led by uncle Barangay Captain Walter Sepe. Every Pinoy Pride win by both Albert and Jason were given a heroes' welcome in Maasin City and fitting awarding ceremonies. Both brothers were awarded as Outstanding Maasinhons and Albert was named Outstanding Southern Leyte?o. His victory against Raul Hirales of Mexico is still the talk of the boxing scribes. Asian Boxing has this to say: "The win over Hirales wasn't just a step up in class but also in terms of how he fought with the performance being described by some as a punch perfect performance where Pagara countered perfectly, threw amazing combinations and just dominated an experienced and tough foe whilst making it all look incredibly easy." Yahoo! Sports reports: "Pagara demonstrated remarkable maturity for a young man barely out of his teens in the fight against Hirales. He was methodical, didn?t rush to prove how good he is, and slowly but surely took Hirales apart." RingTV describes Albert: "Pagara feels most proud of his win over Raul Hirales. 'I liked that fight because my timing was perfect in that fight and the style of my opponent was perfect also.' Pagara feels there are two areas he needs to improve as he continues his progression, his stamina and strength.? Photo shows Albert and Jason with Mayor Maloney Samaco at the Maasin City Hall.
