10,000 BC BOXING GYM TO HOLD INAUGURAL OPEN BOXING TOURNAMENT PhilBoxing.com Sat, 18 Jul 2015 A newly refurbished boxing gym situated in Barangay Lagtang, Talisay City, Cebu will be staging an inaugural open boxing tournament on the 18th of July at 7 pm. The facility, formerly Bacus Boxing Club has been known to train hundreds of aspiring amateur and few professional practitioners of the Sweet Science since it's inception two decades ago. Among those who call the gym home include former outstanding amateur and ALA boy Rashied Bacus and 2009 Palarong Pambansa silver medallist Bob Anthony Bacus. Current cream of the crop amateurs training in the gym include siblings Marvin and Marco Pomar and Philippine Team-bound Kit Ceron Garces. A total of 13 open boxing bouts will be contested featuring boxers from the gym against Phil-Aust Boxing Club of Mandaue City and Big Yellow Boxing Club. Complete line-up of bouts are as follows: Justin Trazo vs. Win Cabradilla (23 kgs.), Jefferson Trazo vs. John Rey Labajo (26 kgs.), Riel Gabonilas vs. John Andrino (26 kgs.), Mark Ian Pomar vs. Alex Bonita (28 kgs.), Carlos Canedo vs. Lilmar Constantino (35 kgs.), John Mark Echavez vs. Excel Mugar (39 kgs.), Limbert Cainap vs. Godfrey Lubiano (42 kgs.), Berland Robles vs. Tirso Cruz (45 kgs.), Jelly Boy Narvasa vs. Luis Espina (46 kgs.), Jonnel Degamo vs. Jack Morris Inihao (48 kgs.), Audie Dacua vs. Rommel Secretaria (51 kgs.), Marco Pomar vs. Raymond Rama (51 kgs.), Sherwin Telebangco vs. Kevin Echavez (56 kgs.). Two more exhibition bouts will be contested, Delmar Cabatas vs. Fabio Marfa and Ryan Colentas vs. Jeffry Estella. The gym is co- managed by former professional fighter Gideon Bacus, who is also the chief trainer and boxing enthusiast Jerry Canonigo.  |
