?THE MAIN EVENT? SPOTLIGHTS NIETES? OPPONENT FRANCISCO RODRIGUEZ ON PBO-SKY CABLE, SATUDAY AT 8:30 P.M
By Ronnie Nathanielsz PhilBoxing.com Fri, 19 Jun 2015

The longest reigning Filipino world champion, current WBO light flyweight champion Donnie ?Ahas? Nietes has declared he wants to shut the mouth of cocky Mexican mandatory challenger Francisco Rodriguez when they clash on ?Pinoy Pride XXXI? at the Waterfront Hotel and Casino on July 11.
Why is Nietes upset and what has driven him to train like never before in the face of this latest challenge from Rodriguez, who won the WBO minimum weight title with a 10th round TKO of Nietes? close friend and stablemate Merlito ?Tiger? Sabillo?
Viva Sports will look at all the angles in a two part preview on the top-rating weekly boxing show ?The Main Event? telecast on Pinoy Box Office (PBO) over Sky Cable at 8:30 p.m. on Saturdays with a replay at 10:30 a.m. on Sundays.
On part one we will give boxing fans a chance to assess the qualities of Rodriguez in highlights of his two fights against Filipino slugger Jomar Fajardo as well as Rodriguez? showdown with Ernesto Guerrero.
We will also feature highlights of Nietes in his two battles with mandatory Mexican challenger Moises Fuentes with the first fight ending in a majority draw and the rematch in a spectacular 9th round knockout by Nietes plus snippets of Nietes, undefeated Mark ?Magnifico? Magsayo and exciting amateur Kevin Jake ?KJ? Catajara who makes his pro debut.
A complete rundown of their training along with interviews with Nietes, trainer Edmund Villamor, strength and conditioning coach Nick Curson and highlights of their sparring at the ALA Gym along Balete Drive in Quezon City and more highlights of fights of Rodriguez will be included in next week's show.
