NBA Playoffs -- Bucks avoid elimination, shock Bulls in Game 5 By Tim Gonzales PhilBoxing.com Tue, 28 Apr 2015 MILWAUKEE -- For the second time in as many games, the Milwaukee Bucks staved off elimination and will live another day in the 2015 NBA playoffs. The scrappy Bucks, the youngest team this post-season, pulled out a monstrous Game 5 win over the battle-tested Chicago Bulls, 94-88, on Monday night at the United Center, slicing their best-of-7 series deficit to 3-2. Game 6 shifts to the BMO Harris Bradley Center in Milwaukee on Thursday night (Friday AM in Manila). Game 7, if necessary, returns to the United Center in Chicago on May 2 (Sunday AM in Manila). After sitting out the entire fourth quarter of his team's thrilling 92-90 Game 4 win on Saturday, Michael Carter-Williams, the 2014 NBA Rookie of the Year, sparkled with 22 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists. The 6-foot-6 point guard, a Syracuse alum and the 11th pick in the 2013 draft, swished 10 of 15 field goals. With his length and quickness, Carter-Williams was a load to handle for the Bulls, who fell short on a comeback after crawling to within 92-88 with 48 seconds to go. Khris Middleton made 8-of-16 shots to finish with 21 for the sixth-seeded Bucks while Giannis Antetokounmpo added 11. O.J. pitched in 11 off the bench and zaza Pachulia registered 9 points and 10 boards. John Henson only had 8 points, but the 6-foot-11 center pulled down 14 rebounds and made a decisive put-back slam that handed the Bucks a 90-83 lead with 3:15 to go. . "You can always talk about the future, but we don't. We don't really understand what the future holds for us. We've got to stay in the present. This is what this team has done all year....They've worked their tails off and they've put themselves in the position to make it a series," Bucks head coach Jason Kidd told reporters during his post-game press conference. Pau Gasol led all scorers with 25 points and 10 rebounds but the Bulls backcourt of Derrick Rose and Jimmy Butler struggled mightily. Butler had 20 points but went just 5-of-21 from the field while Rose missed 15 of 20 shots to settle with 13. After committing 28 turnovers in Game 4, the Bulls cut their miscues down to 12 in Game 5, but they shot poorly in their second chance at clinching the series, making only 31 of 90 shots (34.4 percent). The third-seeded Bulls also missed 18 of 22 triples (18.2 percent).
