NBA -- Cavs destroy Heat, brace for Bulls showdown in Chicago
By Anthony Rozic PhilBoxing.com Fri, 13 Feb 2015

CHICAGO -- The Cleveland Cavaliers raced to 38-point first quarter start and never looked up as they routed the Miami Heat, 113-93, on Wednesday night at the Quicken Loans Arena.
Timofey Mozgov finished with 20 points and seven rebounds while LeBron James had 18 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists to help topple his former team. Tristan Thompson had 17 while Kyrie Irving added 15 and six dimes.
Without Dwyane Wade, who missed his seventh straight game due to a strained right hamstring, were led by Mario Chalmers' 18 points. Hassan Whiteside tallied 17 points and 14 boards, but the Heat shot only 34 of 84 from the field (40.5 percent) and made just 9-of-24 triples (37.5 percent).
Miami, which dropped four of its last 10 assignments, fell to 22-30 and lead the 21-31 Brooklyn Nets by just one game for the eighth and last playoffs berth in the Eastern Conference.
"There's still going to be memories when I see my guys, anyone of the teammates I had when I won a championship because we gave so much to each other and we sacrificed so much," LeBron told ESPN on his thoughts about Miami, where he went to four straight NBA Finals from 2011 to 2014.
Beyond that, though, the Heat are just another opponent.
And the Cavs went on with their business of winning and shot a high 56.4 percent from the field (44-of-78) and 40 percent from above the 3-point arc (10-of-25). Cleveland also converted 15 of 19 free throws and outrebounded the Heat, 43-36.
With their 14th win in 15 games, the Cavs improved to 33-21 for fourth place in the Eastern Conference. James and company head to Chicago in a highly-anticipated showdown with Bulls at the United Center on Thursday night (7 am Friday morning in Manila).
