Mayweather takes Round One By Recah Trinidad PhilBoxing.com Tue, 03 Feb 2015 THAT ?done-deal?, sorry to say, is running wild again and playing harder to pin down, but wherever the wild chasing may end up, there?s reason to believe that ?Floyd Mayweather Jr. has taken Round One.? That was a sly move, typical of Mayweather, says one former Pacquiao team insider of the unbeaten champ?s appearance in the Miami Heat home game versus the Milwaukee Bucks at the American Airlines Arena last week. ?He?s on top, calling the shots,? the insider explains. Isn?t that as cute as winning Round One already? he adds. ** First of all, it would become clear that Mayweather?s sidecourt confrontation with Pacquiao did not happen by chance. Mayweather made it a point to be there upon learning Pacquiao would be watching the Miami Heat game. Other pertinent details had been skipped hereabouts but, truth be told, Mayweather took charge to castigate Pacquiao and his adviser Michael Koncz for ?spouting lies.? We repeat here parts of the undisputed report by Ben Thompson for Fighthype.com: ?Mayweather told Pacquiao that he has been told multiple lies. Mayweather explained that ?he?s been trying to make the fight happen? and chose to stay silent through the negotiation procedure because ?I don?t entertain bullshit.? Mayweather said ? If you?re not going to tell the truth, it?s best to stay silent.?? ** The well followed TMZ website announced the mega bout was a done-deal, but later pulled out the inadvertent report. So far, nothing has been heard again from Pacquiao regarding the dream super fight, which could reportedly gross a minimum of $300 Million in pay-per-view subscriptions. That should?ve goaded Mayweather to initiate formal negotiations. But next they heard, the unbeaten pound-for-pound king was taking his sweet time in the Caribbean. ?While they continue to lie about making the fight, I?m just going to continue to travel and explore the world on my private jet,? Mayweather stated through social media. There was also a picture of Mayweather lazing it in the breeze among beachside fronds. Neither a report nor a sign when Round Two of the Mayweather-Pacquiao off-ring tussle would start, following the one-sided first round. ** (GOODBYE: A BROTHER and friend to all in his native Barangay Vergara in Mandaluyong City, the gentle and generous Nestor Cabangon will be interred this afternoon at the San Felipe Neri Catholic Cemetery. He passed away on Thursday at age 68. Salute and farewell, kumpadre.) Click here to view a list of other articles written by Recah Trinidad. |
