HOUSTON -- The Minnesota Timberwolves finally halted their 15-game losing skid. And they did it in grand fashion, thanks to Mo Williams.
The 32-year old veteran point guard sizzled for an NBA season-high 52 points as the Timberwolves bit the Indiana Pacers, 110-101, on Tuesday night at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse.
"When you're in a zone, you don't know the magnitude of the game. I am glad to put on a show," the 6-foot-3 Williams told ESPN after a superb outing in which he made 19 of 33 field goals, 6-of-11 triples and 8-of-9 free throws in 44 minutes of action.
Minnesota shot an impressive 41 of 87 from the field, including 10-of-20 from above the 3-point arc. Andrew Wiggins wasn't nearly as hot as Williams but the blue-chip rookie helped Minnesota's cause with 20 points and four assists while Thaddeus Young added 11 points.
C.J. Miles finished with 22 points and C.J. Watson recorded 17 for the Pacers who made only five of 18 threes but shot 39 of 80 field goals overall.
The loss dropped the Pacers to 15-25, two games behind the 16-22 Brooklyn Nets for the eighth and last playoffs berth in the Eastern Conference.
