PRO BOXING RETURNS TO PORT HUENEME, CA JANUARY 17th

PhilBoxing.com

Undefeated Prospect Jose "El Chon" Zepeda
Returns To Oceanview Pavilion

Top Rank, in association with Bash Boxing, Art of Boxing Promotions, and the Oceanview Pavilion, brings Solo Boxeo Tecate on Unimas back to Port Hueneme, California on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at 6:00pm.

Boxing By The Beach will feature the return of world-ranked Mexican-American knockout artist, Jose "El Chon" Zepeda (21-0, 18 KOs). Ranked #7 in the world by the WBO and #12 in the world by the IBF, Zepeda will take on Rafael Cobos (15-5-5, 3KOs). Zepeda is a Southern California native, born in Long Beach and residing in La Puente. Zepeda sports an 86% knockout rate and was last seen in a 1st round destruction of former Dominican contender Victor Manuel Cayo (32-6). Cobos was unbeaten in 7 bouts since July 2010 before dropping a unanimous decision to former World Champion challenger Josesito Lopez (33-6) in September.

Boxing By The Beach will feature another young and undefeated prospect from the Top Rank stable, Saul Rodriquez (15-0-1, 12KOs). Rodriguez trains with 2012 Trainer of the Year Robert Garcia at his Boxing Academy in Oxnard. The boxer known as "Kid Dinamita" has literally exploded in his last 7 bouts with highlight reel knockdowns and knockouts. Fans who attended the April Boxing By the Beach show at Oceanview Pavilion saw Rodriguez brutally knock out Miguel Zamudio (29-3-1) in the 4thround. Rodriguez, who stopped all of his opponents in 2013 and 2014, will look to continue that streak in 2015.

Boxing By The Beach will also feature some familiar names and faces to the legions of boxing fans in the Oxnard/Ventura areas. Two boxers with identical 5-1 records will take on each other as Oxnard native Abraham Lopez meets Bihal Mahasin in a 6 round welterweight affair. Also, adopted Oxnard sons, Daniel "Twtich" Franco (9-0-3, 6KOs) and Zachary "Kid Yamaka" Wohlman (8-2-1, 1KO) will appear in separate 6 round contests. Rounding out the card will be two undefeated prospects from Los Angeles, Luis Sedano (3-0) and Arnold Barboza Jr. (4-0).

BOXING BY THE BEACH takes place on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at the Oceanview Pavilion, located at 575 E. Surfside Drive in Port Hueneme, California. Tickets can be purchased online at www.boxingbythebeach.com or by calling (805) 889-8162. Tickets start at $40 for Theatre Seating and $80 for Ringside/Stage Seating. A limited number of VIP bottle service tables are also available.

Doors Open at 6:00pm; First Bout at 6:15pm. All bouts are subject to change.
