NBA -- Lakers stun Spurs in OT, 112-110
By Adeline Deladisma PhilBoxing.com Sun, 14 Dec 2014

SAN ANTONIO -- There has been much talk of late about Kobe Bryant's climb to surpass Michael Jordan on the all-time scoring list. Just as much attention has been paid to his recent comments about his teammates being "soft as Charmin" in practice.
Bryant did not surpass Jordan on Friday night at the AT & T Center, but his Lakers did pull together to defeat the San Antonio Spurs 112-110.
The Lakers managed to escape the Spurs in front of a sellout crowd at the AT&T Center in San Antonio on a gutsy three pointer by Nick Young with 7.4 seconds remaining in overtime.
The Lakers started slowly and were down 10-0 before scoring their first points with 8:43 left in the first. Los Angeles closed the gap and finished the half up 54-50, shooting 64.3 percent from behind the arc and aided by an uncharacteristic 9 turnovers by the Spurs.
The Lakers led by 11 at the start of the fourth and led the entire quarter. Bryant hit a three pointer with 1:59 remaining in the fourth quarter and and the visitors seemed poised to topple the defending champions. San Antonio would then challenge with a 9-0 run after to tie the game at 101 and send it into overtime.
Los Angeles was led by Young, whose 29 point performance off the bench was highlighted by 6 for 9 three-point shooting. There were six Lakers in double figures with Jordan Hill (14 points, 10 rebounds) and Carlos Boozer (14 points, 13 rebounds) each notching a double-double. Bryant finished with 22 points and 9 assists.
Tim Duncan and Danny Green each had 19 points for the Spurs. Duncan moved past Jerry West to 18th in all-time scoring tonight with 25,197 career points.
Both teams return to action on Sunday: the Lakers face the Timberwolves in Minnesota and the Spurs visit Denver to play the Nuggets. (AD)
