NBA - Warriors outrun Bulls, increase streak to 12 By Adeline Deladisma PhilBoxing.com Mon, 08 Dec 2014 CHICAGO - Draymond Green led the NBA's hottest team with 31 points to help the Golden State Warriors beat the Chicago Bulls, 112-102, and increase their winning streak to 12 on Saturday night at the United Center. Green made a total of 11 of 20 field goals and set the tone early, scoring 11 in the opening quarter where the Warriors raced to an early 20-8 lead. Green, who went 7-for-13 from 3-point range, also had seven rebounds and three assists. The Warriors shot just 44.9 percent from the field but 12 of 30 triples helped them surpass a Bulls team that converted only 36 of 83 shots (43.4 percent), including just 7-for-21 on threes. Besides Green's impressive output, the Warriors also got good production from their star backcourt of Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson who combined for 43 points. Harrison Barnes and Marreese Speights each had 11 while Andrew Bogut pulled down 12 rebounds. Trailing 61-47 late in the second half, the Bulls came alive and regained the lead, 72-71, following a Gasol jumper at the 4:58 mark of the third quarter. But the Warriors, who fell behind 80-79 entering the fourth quarter, scored 33 minutes the rest of the way to pull away. The Warriors now sit atop the NBA standings with a 17-2 slate. The Bulls remained at fifth place in the Eastern Conference with a 12-8 card but they fell to 2-5 at their building where 22,353 fans attended Saturday night's showdown. "They're easy to coach. They're really talented. They're unselfish. I'm just lucky," Warriors rookie head coach Steve Kerr told reporters outside the visitor's locker room. Kerr is a former Bull who won three championships with Michael Jordan and company from 1996 to 1998. Jimmy Butler paced the Bulls with 24 points while Pau Gasol, who owned the boards with a game-high 20 rebounds, added 22. Joakim Noah finished with 16 points and Taj Gibson had 12 and seven boards. Derrick Rose, however, struggled. The 2011 league MVP made only 2 of 11 field goals to card a modest nine points and six assists in 31 minutes.
