PACQUIAO-ALGIERI BETTING ODDS CHANGE AS FIGHT NEARS By Rich Mazon PhilBoxing.com Sat, 22 Nov 2014 Macau - If you are a betting man and are curious about the latest boxing odds for tomorrow's big fight from Macau, China and on HBO, numbers and prizes continue to change, albeit minor, in the Sports Book sections of the original Gambling Capital of the World - Las Vegas. Manny Pacquiao is still an overwhelming favorite to win over Chris Algieri in their welterweight clash from The Cotai Arena in the ground floor of The Venetian Macau Resorts. According to the latest numbers Friday afternoon (as of 3 pm) from The Mandalay Bay Sports Book, Pacquiao is now a 7:1 favorite to emerge victorious over his undefeated opponent from New York. This is a change from a -725 ($725 to win $100) Thursday afternoon and -800 ($800 to win $100) Wednesday. You will need to risk a whopping $700 to win just $100 if you pick on Pacquiao to win. But if you are more of a risk taker and want the bigger return on your investment, a $100 bet will earn you an extra $450 in your pockets, enough to make you feel like a big winner this weekend, in case Algieri wins in what will be the year's biggest upset in boxing. Bettors like to pour dollars on the underdog of most fights, hence the minor tilt on Algieri propositions, He was a +475 ($100 wins $475) on Thursday and a +500 ($100 wins $500) on Wednesday. In another popular proposition, wagers are offered to bet if the fight will last 11 full rounds or not, regardless of the winner between the two boxers. A $180 wager will earn another $100 if the fight lasts after the end of the 11th to the final 12th while a $100 will earn you a better return of $150 if bettors chose the offer that the fight will end before the bell signals the end of the 11th. Pacquiao stated that he intends to bring back his old aggressiveness in the ring, trademark of his older days in the ring, versus a taller and younger Algieri who was slightly overweight by half a pound in the weigh-in held Saturday morning. "It's going to be great action. We did our job in camp, it felt like the old days when I first started with Freddie (Roach). Get your seats early, you don't want to miss the fireworks. If these words were to translate into results, Algieri has very little chance in the ring of The Cotai Arena and the betting stations all over Las Vegas.
