NBA -- Wade drops 25 as Miami tames Timberwolves, 102-92 By Adeline Deladisma PhilBoxing.com Sun, 09 Nov 2014 MIAMI -- The Miami Heat returned to Biscayne Bay Saturday night and downed the visiting Minnesota Timberwolves in a 102-92 wire-to-wire victory. at the American Airlines Arena. Both teams split their two games last year and each now have a different look this season. The Heat (3-2) and the Timberwolves (2-4) were the teams most affected by last summer?s free agent fiesta and the rebirth of basketball in Cleveland. Miami is without LeBron James and Minnesota lost its franchise All Star, Kevin Love. The Heat jumped out to an early lead and finished the quarter up 29-13 on 72.2% shooting including connecting on all 3 of their first 3-point attempts. The Heat closed the half leading 53 -41 after leading by as many as 20 during the second quarter. Miami continued to outshoot Minnesota in the third quarter. The Timberwolves would close the gap in the fourth quarter and came within four with only 2:47 left to play. Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade sealed the game for their squad, scoring all but four of the Heat?s 22 points in the fourth quarter After losing the last two games leaving their head coach feeling as though they had lost focus on moving the ball and creating for one another, the Heat bounced back with 18 assists in the first half alone. They were led by Wade (25 points, 8 assists) and Bosh (24 points, 7 rebounds). Udonis Haslem made his first appearance of the season, contributing 8 points off the bench. Timberwolves point guard Ricky Rubio did not play and is out for an indefinite period of time after suffering a severe ankle sprain in the second quarter of their game against the Orlando Magic. Nikola Pekovic notched a double-double and led his team with 19 points and 11 rebounds. The Heat travel to Dallas for the tail end of a back-to-back on Sunday night and the Timberwolves return to action at home versus Houston on Wednesday.
