NBA -- Grizzlies claw Pacers, 97-89 By Adeline Deladisma PhilBoxing.com Sun, 02 Nov 2014 INDIANAPOLIS -- The Memphis Grizzlies visited the costumed confines of Bankers Life Fieldhouse on Halloween Night and beat the Indiana Pacers, 97-89. Both teams entered Friday night with season opening victories, but they struggled to find consistency early on in a contest highlighted by a four lead changes and a three ties. The contest also saw both teams enjoy large margins. Benefitting from a slew of Indiana turnovers, the Grizzlies led by 11 in the opening quarter. But the Pacers, on the strength of a 13-2 run, seized the advantage at halftime, 53-45.The Pacers pushed their lead to 13 but the Grizzlies conquered the third period with a 33-14 spurt. Marc Gasol led the Grizzlies with 20 points and six rebounds while Zach Randolph overcame a slow start to finish with 22 and 13 boards. Chris Copeland came off the bench and led the Pacers with 16 points. Roy Hibbert, arguably the only true starter in the Pacer line-up, finished eight points and eight rebounds. The Pacers made 34 of 74 shots, but they were hurt by 18 turnovers, twice as many as Memphis'. David West (sprained right ankle) and George Hill (bruised left knee) did not suit up for Indiana while the Grizzlies took an injury hit when guard Courtney Lee went down late in the second quarter and left the game with a mild concussion. The Pacers play the Hawks on Saturday while the Grizzlies continue their Eastern Conference sojourn with a visit to Charlotte to play the Hornets.
