By Salvador Lopez PhilBoxing.com Tue, 21 Oct 2014

Gearing forward toward the achievement of the organisation?s goals and objectives, members of the Association of Philippine Professional Boxing Ring Officials ? Luzon Chapter, Inc. (?APPBRO?) held their quarterly membership meeting at the association?s headquarter in Mandaluyong City last Sunday, October 19. This is in furtherance of the organisation?s mission to elevate the officiating of boxing bouts in the Philippines such that the country shall be globally known as a constant source of world class boxing ring officials in world title bouts.
In the meeting, the members discussed the various developments in Philippine boxing and the role of APPBRO in relation thereto. Concerns and issues affecting the ring officials were also part of the agenda. The meeting was also an opportunity to welcome the new members to the organisation who took their oath led by APPBRO president Engr. Greg Ortega.
Meanwhile, APPBRO president and boxing judge Engr. Ortega together with veteran boxing judge Gil Co will be off to Las Vegas later in the week to attend the 27th WBO Annual Convention scheduled on October 27-31. This is expected to expand the horizon of the organisation.
