PARANAQUE CITY, Philippines -- RENAN TRONCO of Palawan believes he is now ready for another world title shot after his third-round technical knockout of Mindoro's Albert Alcoy for the Philippine Boxing Federation Light Flyweight championship belt dubbed as "Bakbakan sa Elorde" late Saturday night here at the famous Elorde Ballroom, Elorde Sports Complex along A. De Los Santos (formerly Sucat Road).

Ranked as the No. 18 contender by the World Boxing Association (WBA) Light Flyweight, Tronco and his camp are eyeing a possible World Boxing Council (WBC) Youth Intercontinental light flyweight title shot on October 22.

After flooring Alcoy, ranked as the No. 20 International Boxing Organization (IBO) Light Flyweight contender in the third round, 2 minutes and 41 seconds with a solid right body shot, Tronco said a world title is on the horizon.

"I think I'm ready for another shot. It's definitely a big step for me, I just have to work at it," said Tronco, playing under the banner of sportsman/manager Gabriel "Bebot" Elorde Jr.

Tronco hiked his record to nine wins, three of which are knockouts.

Organized by Elorde International Productions in close cooperation with Macky Castro and North Star Sports, the 10-round, 108- pounder Main event was backed up by San Miguel Beer, Ginebra San Miguel, Petron Max Diesel and San Mig Coffee.

Dubbed as "Bakbakan sa Elorde" the event will move around several cities in the country to bring the sport of boxing closer to the people.

Meanwhile, Ryan Sermona of Binalagbagan, Negros Occidental scored a fifth-round technical knockout against Vic Racoma of Tarlac in their supporting main event. Also posting impressive victory was Jaypee Otilla of Guinobatan, Albay, who stopped Julius Agcopra of Las Pinas in the third-round via knockout victory also in the supporting main event.

In the Preliminary bouts, Cris Paulino of Romblon toppled Mark Vito of Makati City (4th round TKO); Gabriel Altarejos of Sun Valley, Paranaque City routed Joel Lagusan of Cavite City (8th round UD); Vergel Nebran of Pangasinan crushed Ryan Soliveres of Makati City (6th round TKO); Marvin Mabait of Zamboanga City nipped Adelino Balongcas of Tanza City (5th round KO) and Jhunmar Dulog of Surigao del Sur hammered Gabriel Ruyo of Valenzuela City (6th round UD).

In the Curtain Raisers, Robert Agcopra of Las Pinas scored an easy first-round knock-out victory against Eddie Esparago of Bulan, Sorsogon as well Pablo Gabunio of Puerto Princesa, Palawan dealt Jomar Yema of Tanauan City in another first-round technical knock-out win.

Promoter Macky Castro (R) raises the hand of Renan Tronco (C) after Tronco''s victory over Albert Alcoy (L) during their fight Saturday night in Paranaque City, Philippines.
