NBA - Warriors rebounds from rare home loss, beat Cavaliers, 99 - 92

OAKLAND --- After a disappointing home loss against the Denver Nuggets last Saturday, Draymond Green and the Golden State Warriors bounced back with a huge 99-92 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Christmas Day at the Oracle Arena.

It was a defensive battle which looked ugly at times but the Warriors held the Cavaliers to 31.8 shooting from the field, the lowest shooting percentage since last Christmas of 2015 against the same Warriors squad. The game was tied with few minutes left in the fourth when rookie Jordan Bell grabbed an offensive rebound that led to a Klay Thompson 3 pointer with 3:11 left in the fourth quarter that kept the Warriors on top for good.

“It was the key turning point of the game” Coach Kerr said after the game. He also gave praise to Jordan Bell’s performance.

Kevin Durant was brilliant on both ends of the floor. He was engaged right from the start with playoff like intensity. He often pumped his fists, pounded his chest, and showed a lot of emotion after picking up a technical foul early in the first quarter. He finished with 25 points, 7 boards and 5 timely blocks. Klay Thompson pitched in with 24 points, shooting 4 of 7 behind the arc.

Kevin Love kept the Cavaliers within a striking distance scoring game high 31 points and season high 18 boards. Lebron James scored 20 points, 6 boards and 6 dimes. James was frustrated most of the contest as he was double teamed and made seven turnovers.

Draymond Green had a triple double with 22 points, 12 rebounds. and 11 assist.

Cavaliers will head to Sacramento tomorrow. (RPM)
