DNA test on Pacman love child postponed PhilBoxing.com Wed, 15 Mar 2006 The alleged love child of boxing icon Manny Pacquiao failed to take a DNA test Tuesday after doctors said the boxing champ should also undergo the test. Doctor Raymond Noc, chief pathologist of Saint Luke’s Hosptial, told DZMM that they would need a sample specimen from Pacquiao, Bacosa and the child to conduct the DNA test. Bacosa, the alleged ex-lover Pacquiao, earlier planned to submit her child to a DNA test to prove that the two-year-old is the son of the boxing champ. Bacosa said the test results will prove Pacquiao is the boy's father. Bacosa sued Pacquiao for violating Republic Act No. 9262, which protects women from violence, and to seek support for the boy. Her lawyer Vic Rodriguez said Bacosa decided to sue Pacquiao after he made threats about kidnapping the boy. He said the boxing champ also stopped responding to his client's text messages and calls. Pacquiao earlier questioned claims that he fathered the child, saying that Bacosa had a boyfriend when he was seeing her in 2003. Rodriguez said they are not after a specified amount of money but reasonable financial support for the boy. He said the second preliminary investigation hearing on the case filed against Pacquiao will be heard at the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office later Tuesday. The boxing champ is expected to appear before the hearing to take his oath, Assistant City Prosecutor Ma. Gracia Cadiz-Casaclan said. Pacquiao failed to show up during the preliminary hearing after going on vacation in Hong Kong. Click here for a complete listing of columns by this author.
