BREAKING NEWS: JUSTIN FORTUNE TO BRANCH OFF ON HIS OWN, BUT WILL CONTINUE WORKING WITH ROACH

PhilBoxing.com
20 Apr 2007

Famed fight trainer Freddie Roach, and his conditioning coach/assistant trainer Justin Fortune contacted me this evening to inform me that Justin will be branching out on his own in the near future.

Roach contacted me earlier this evening, he wanted to make something very clear to all of the fans out there, “Me and Justin talked, and everything is fine. Justin will be branching off to start his own stable of fighters, but we will continue to work together with Manny Pacquaio, and my other world champion fighters in the gym. I will continue to be the boxing trainer, and Justin will continue to be the conditioning coach, and the assistant trainer.”

Roach went on to say, “ Justin and I continue to enjoy a very professional business relationship, and he is my friend.”

Shortly afterwards, Justin Fortune contacted me and he was equally as determined to let the fans know that the two of them are fine, “Me and Freddie talked, and everything is fine. It's been a long time coming and I have put in my dues to start my own stable. I will continue to work with Freddie and Manny Pacquiao, and when I do get my own stable going, Freddie will be handing over fighters to me that he has trouble getting to due to his large stable.”

Recently it has been reported that the two were splitting up due to turmoil in the relationship between the two, when Philboxing asked Fortune about the rumors that the two were doing some internal fighting, he responded, “That's bullshit, there were people in Puerto Rico that were filling Freddie's head up with a bunch of lies, the bottom line here is that what Freddie and I discuss concerning financial matters is between he and I, and nobody else.”

Stay tuned to the most accurate reports from Team Pacquaio, right here at Philboxing.com!
