JERKS, BOXING AND THE ENLIGHTENED PEOPLE (Part III)

PhilBoxing.com

How do you become an enemy to yourself?

Media?s job is to inform and send a message by way of report and opinion. But if media sends the wrong message and reports to reinforce waywardness, then media doesn?t serve its purpose. Unconscious of dire consequences, under the latter condition, media becomes adversarial and a deterrent to its own cause. Thus if what you do is the opposite of the very reason why you?re a part of media, you are a crook and a liability to society.
Look back to come home, not stray farther away.

Mayweather and Pacquiao?s popularity would be rendered barren again if they persist to wander in wilderness. The past big numbers of these two boxing stars have got nothing to do with Oscar Dela Hoya, Canelo Alvarez, Miguel Cotto or Juan Manuel Marquez as opponents to them. Success or failure in PPV yields at the moment would have no connection with Showtime or HBO, promotion or glitter, hype or blitz, publicity or gimmick.
Media can wield awesome power, but it can?t be above the enlightened people.

Pundits refer to a lot of things why the recent fights of Money and Manny did way below in pay-per-view or pay-per-?view? than what were expected and projected. It was the people?s exasperation over boxing being ridiculously ill which is the number one, number two and number three reasons. That is boxing with the involvement of brats and the machination of crocs as supported by jerks.

Jerks are experts at airing their views but seldom discerning. And once they identify where the problem lies, they join the problem instead of solving it.

Desert is a sad field for roses, but the sadder field is a farm in clover yet sterile. Those who take great pleasure in deep slumber rise up just to sleep again, and they never get to see beauty through an open window to enjoy morning lights. Go figure it. What?s hard to understand about the alphabet is what?s easy for the corrupt to muddle and complicate simple things. When will the fans be allowed to get out of the mire or miry wood clays? Nothing is ever done until something good is ever fully done and accomplished.

Blame games aren?t funny, but hilarious if you blame all but yourself.

Who rationalize by way of delusion the disappointing PPV results of Pac and Floyd?s previous bouts? And by coming up with silly justifications like ?failure? in promotional tours in Key Iconic Cities of the World or KICW? Fantastic! Note please and reminisce: The press or media had done its part to hype those fights to the max equivalent to a thousand press tours, yet the results made the Jacobs and jabots frown because the people refused to be tripped, and tripped in perpetuity.

Who consented to Pacman?s entry in the PBA must be a jerk or jerks and have little concern with the boxer?s welfare. Seeing him in action on the court a couple of times, I favor Pacman becoming a player (not a coach) in the Philippine Basketball Association. But I highly question his move to compete with pro basketball league while active in pro boxing. Call it omen or any other name, my advice to the Filipino icon: Hold it, or be careful never to be injured playing in the rough and tough PBA, lest you lose your chances to beat FMJ and Rustico Torrecampo.
Boxing belongs to those who care. But to the loud few who willfully indulge in being lost: The issue has boiled down to the people having to act with stronger resolve for the healing of the sport, or until the dawning of a new day.

Business for boxing today will be largely determined by the sincere repentance or stubborn apostasy of major players in the sport. And the clearest sign to tell the world that all is well (not only for Golden Boy and Top Rank) would be when Pacquiao and Mayweather finally agree to fight each other PRIOR to engaging in shows with Maidana, Algieri, Khan, Marquez or any other Hollywood actors.

YOU, the fans and people are sovereign and supreme with TRUTH by your side, not those with hollow words or inkless pens whose primary concern is to lead the gullible astray for their own ends.

Sound the bugle.

Be awake.

P.S. More can be said about the plight of the sport these days and how ?healing? can be achieved. But suffice it for now to define Truth just a little further to show everyone what the misfits can do against the world - and against the sport of boxing.
