NBA -- Iguodala leaves Denver for Golden State
By Joan Secuya-Medida PhilBoxing.com Sun, 07 Jul 2013

SAN FRANCISCO -- High-flying Andre Iguodala, one of the NBA's premiere guards, will be California dreamin' next season.
According to ESPN, the 6-foot-6, 207-pound Iguodala has agreed to be a part of the Golden State Warriors for a four-year, $48 million contract. The deal, however, won't become official until Iguodala signs on the dotted line on July 10, when the league lifts the moratorium on player signings.
The 29-year old Iggy, a one-time All-Star, got a five-year $60 million offer to stay in Denver, where he averaged an all-around 13 points, 5.3 rebounds and 5.4 assists in 80 games. Iguodala also drew a four-year, $52 million offer from the Sacramento Kings, who pulled their offer after Iggy didn't decide quickly because the Kings were wary of being used as a leverage.
But after spending eight years in Philadelphia and a lone season in Denver, Iguodala chose to join the Warriors' exciting young stars led by lights-out shooter Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Harrison Barnes.
Iguodala's departure is another blow to the Nuggets, who lost thir general manager and reigning NBA Executive of the Year -- Masai Ujiri -- to the Toronto Raptors. Denver also severed ties with their head coach, George Karl, the 2013 NBA Coach of the Year. (JSM).
