Gorres Sets Public Workout this Friday!

WBO No. 1 Super Flyweight contender, Z ?The Dream? Gorres, showcases his wares in an open-to-the-public training session at the ALA Fight Club, Banilad Town Center, 4pm on Friday (Dec 1).
Gorres is slated to fight against reigning WBO Super Flyweight champion Fernando Montiel sometime early next year.
After a long battle in the negotiating table, this much awaited mandatory title fight between Montiel and Gorres was finally inked when SGG Sports Promotions won the recently concluded purse bid at the WBO Headquarters in Puerto Rico last Nov 27.
?I am excited about this fight,? says the enthusiastic Gorres, ?I have long dreamed of fighting for a world title ? and finally, I am getting a chance at it.?
Gorres came fresh from a knockout win last October 21 at the Mandaue Sports Complex. The young Mandawe?on proved to be too wily for Indonesian Sony Manakane as he pummeled the visiting Indon to submission in the 4th canto.
Montiel, on the other hand, will be defending his title for the 10th time since winning the WBO Super Flyweight crown last December 2000 against then reigning champ, Isidro Garcia. His recent successful defense was against Thailand?s Pramuansak Phosuwan last Oct 29, 2005 in Tuczon, Arizona. He made attempt in going up in weight but was unsuccessful in his bid for the WBO Bantam crown against Jhonny Gonzales.
Gorres has been back in training after only a two-week rest from his Oct 21 fight.
Boxing fans will be treated to an open training session by one of the country?s best pugilists this afternoon as they get to see Gorres hard at work in preparation for his upcoming world title fight.
