NBA-- Warriors blast Clippers, 115-94 By Joan Secuya-Medida PhilBoxing.com Fri, 04 Jan 2013 SAN FRANCISCO -- In a match-up between two high-scoring, fast-running Western Conference teams, the Golden State Warriors bested the Los Angeles Clippers, 115-94 Wednesday night at the Oracle Arena in Oakland. The Warriors relied on the one-two-punch of Stephen Curry and David Lee to hand the Clippers their second straight defeat after putting up a franchise record-setting 17 wins in a row in late November and througout December. Curry shot an impressive 11 of 16 field goals and finished with 31 points and eight assists. Lee, meanwhile, had 24 points and 10 rebounds as the Warriors improved to 22-10 and moved to within 2 1/2 games behind the Clippers, who paces the Pacific Division with a 25-8 slate. Klay Thompson also turned in 19 points for the Warriors while Harrison Barnes added 13 and nine rebounds. "(Steph) Curry has been great. The guy's an All-Star. Maybe I'll hold my own game if these two guys (Curry and Lee) aren't in there. Maybe that's the answer, but these two guys are All-Stars," Golden State head coach Mark Jackson told NBA.com The Warriors shot a high 50 percent from the field and an even higher 52.2 percent from three point range. They controlled the game early on and led by as many as 24 points. Coming off the bench, Jamal Crawford led all Clippers with 24. All-Star point guard Chris Paul sizzled with 23 and six assists while Matt Barnes chipped in 19. Power forward Blake Griffin was solid well, 10 points and six rebounds. But the Clippers couldn't overcome another night where they shot poorly. Of their team total 80 field goals, Los Angeles just nailed 29 (36.2 percent) and they sank just 8-of-29 triples (27.6 percent). They also missed 11 of 39 free throws and turned the ball over 14 times. Compounding LA's problems was reobunding, which Golden State dominated, 53-38. (JSM).
