DE LA HOYA TO INTRODUCE MARQUEZ & JACA AT THURSDAY MEDIA CONFERENCE

McALLEN, TEXAS---Nine-time world champion and Golden Boy Promotions President, Oscar De La Hoya, will be in McAllen on Thursday, November 9th to officially introduce main event fighters Juan Manuel Marquez and Jimrex Jaca to the Rio Grande Valley media and fight fans. De La Hoya will hosta 1:30 p.m. Media Conference at the Wyndham Garden Hotel.
The two-time world champion, Marquez (45-3-1, Mexico City), will be defending his World Featherweight title on Saturday, November 25th, against Jaca (26-2-1, Philippines) at the Dodge Arena in Hidalgo, TX. The seven bout card, which begins at 7:00 pm, is being co-promoted by Romanza Productions, Jaime Quintana, President.
Undefeated Welterweight, Demetrius Hopkins (24-0-1, Philadelphia, PA) and Rogelio Castaneda (23-10-3, Sacramento, CA) are set to battle in a 12-round World Title Elimination fight.
De La Hoya will be attending the event on November 25th. Also at ringside for the first time in the Valley, will be Demetrius Hopkins' uncle, two-time world champion and boxing legend, Bernard Hopkins. HBO announcer Lennox Lewis, another legend and former undisputed World Heavyweight Champion, will be making his second trip to the Valley.
The VALLEY OF LEGENDS card will be the second HBO Boxing After Dark event at the Dodge Arena. Jorge Arce and Julio Cesar Chavez, Jr. headlined the first HBO event there, this past September 23rd before a near capacity crowd.
