'Double Trouble' undercard bared!
By Salven L. Lagumbay PhilBoxing.com Fri, 21 Jul 2006
The undercard to the big July 25 card in beautiful Dapitan City, home of the world-famous Dakak resort, has been revealed for the first time by matchmaker Willy Flores to Philboxing.com.
The card headlines the RP lightweight tussle between Cebu-based, Camiguin-raised Dexter Delada against the tough-as-nails Christopher Saluday.
In the co-feature, comebacking Wyndel Janiola sees action following a bout with arthritis, and earns renewed vigor under his new manager Rex 'Wakee' Salud as he takes on dangerous Philip Parcon for the Philippine Boxing Federation light-flyweight crown.
The rest of the card pits Pingping Tepura versus Jonathan Ba-at (10 rds); Apol Suico versus Isidro Balabat (10 rds); Gideon Amba versus Jing Supremo (8 rds); and Jonathan Candari versus Joe Galamiton (4 rds).
An exciting Dapitan-Cebu battle takes place between their amateur fighters as Pepe Tome (Dapitan) goes up against Rodulfo Sumabong (Cebu) in the 48 kg tiff; Godwin Tubigon (Dapitan) takes on Regie Campos (Cebu) in the 57-kilogram face-off; while Gell Velasco of Dapitan trades leathers with Cebu's Arnel Baricuatro in the 60-kilogram encounter.
The event is presented by Mr. Bullet Jalosjos, in coordination with Rex 'Wakee' Salud International, with the support of Gloria de Dapitan (c/o Cho Locop) , San Miguel Beer, Mayor Jun Jalosjos and Gov. Rolando Yebes.
