Suico's Dream Shattered By 'Baby Bull' Diaz
By Ed de la Vega, DDS PhilBoxing.com Sun, 16 Jul 2006

The Mosley-Vargas, The Rematch lived up to its billing. The Oscar de la Hoya Promotions promised a slam-bang affair and that was exactly how it turned out.
Mosley KO’d Vargas in the 6th round of a 12 round bout. This time there is no doubt. Mosley is far better than Vargas.
Randy Suico’s dream of holding a crown is exactly that…. just a dream. Although he was not the same slow footed Suico we all have seen in his last fights, whatever he brought to the fight was not enough. Diaz, the baby bull kept on charging from the first bell. He did not run around like the others who have faced Suico before. He came to fight. In fact, he landed so much punches without getting much in return that the referee warned Suico as early as the 5th that if he does not increase his punch output, he will stop the fight. That is exactly what he did in the 9th round. Suico was not hurt seriously at any point but to the referee, he was taking a lot more than he throws. So, he stopped the fight.

In the other under card, involving Ponce de Leon and Sor Looknongyangtoy, not much can be said about it. The fight end in just 52 seconds.
