MJ mansion on the market for a king's ransom
By Homer D. Sayson PhilBoxing.com Thu, 01 Mar 2012

If you have fantasies of being super rich and living in a palace once owned by an NBA legend, here's your chance to make it a reality. Hopefully, your bank account is as fat as your dreams.
Michael Jordan's mansion was put up for sale on Wednesday afternoon. Nestled in the Chicago suburb of Highland Park, the mammoth estate sits on eight acres of land and boasts of more than 56,000 square feet of living space. It has nine bedrooms, 15 baths and five fireplaces to keep its wealthy inhabitants warm during the notoriously cold Midwest winters.
The price? A cool $29 million.
Cash, of course, is always a desired payment. But potential buyers can also acquire the former Bulls great's mansion through mortgage installments. A 20-year mortgage, for instance, would require a payment of 125,000 a month for the next 20 years.
And whoever inherits this decadent abode along the majestic Lake Michigan must also pay an annual property tax of $165,000.
The property includes a three-bedroom guest house, a pool area, an outdoor tennis court and three climate-controlled multi-car garages.
And you guessed it, the mansion His Airness once prowled has its own basketball facility. A very good one in fact, simply world class.
The basketball complex, describes thestar.com, features a full-size regulation court with specially-cushioned hardwood flooring and competition-quality high intensity lighting. And it has a sound system set up to provide perfect acoustics within the court space.
By no means a bargain at $29 million and with the U.S. economy still wobbling from the ravages of a recession, MJ's mansion is a tough sell.
But given Jordan's incredible celebrity star power, it wouldn't come as a surprise either if someone steps forward and plunks down the dough for the right to own the mansion Jordan once lived in with his ex-wife Juanita and their three children.
