PhilBoxing.com

Tickets to the "WBO Night of Champions" card on August 30 featuring Rey 'Boom Boom" Bautista and Donnie Nietes will be out starting Thursday, says ALA Promotions vice-president Dennis Canete.

At a press conference held yesterday at the Lai Restaurant in SM City's North Wing, both Bautista and Nietes expressed readiness to take on their respective foes in the event presented by ALA Promotions and ABS-CBN.

Bautista will headline the card against Mexico's Eden Marquez in a 12-round battle for his WBO Intercontinental superbantam title.

Nietes will also defend his WBO minimumweight crown against Nicaragua's Eddy Castro in another 12-round war.

Both fighters were accompanied at yesterday's presscon by their manager Michael Aldeguer and trainers Edito and Edmund Villamor.

Also present were Lai Restaurant execs Boy Te and Marilou Yu, as well as Chad Canares of ALA Promotions.

Jason Pagara will see action in an 8-round non-title showdown with Thailand's Kongdej Sithtrajtrakan.

Other bouts lined up for the show pit Jomanz Omanz versus Roger Galicia; Weng Haya against Johnny Lear; Rey Las Pinas versus Gideon Amba; Jerson Mancio versus Mario Suson; and JV "Fightdoc" Tuazon versus Albert Villacampa.

Meanwhile, a special press conference for the August 30 event will be held on Tuesday at the upscale Lai Garden at the North Wing of SM City Cebu.

A public workout for Bautista and Nietes takes place on Saturday, August 16th. Team Castro and Team Marquez are slated to plane in on Monday, August 25th.

A final press conference takes place on August 28th at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel, while the official weigh-in is set on August 29th at the SM Cebu atrium.

Tickets will be available at the following outlets: Island Souvenirs Ayala, Bisaya Ispisyal Ayala, USA Sports Ayala, Marfori Bakeshop (Mandaue), Waterfront Lahug, ALA Promotions office, ALA Gym BTC, and ALA Gym Mactan.
