PFF U17 final tryout held in Davao By Lito delos Reyes PhilBoxing.com Mon, 09 Sep 2024 THE Philippine Football Federation [PFF] conducted a voluntary tryout for the Men’s U17 National Football Team (Born 2008) last September 8, Sunday at the University of the Philippine Mindanao Sports Complex in Mintal. The tryout headed by Coach Takemoto Suzuki (Philippine Men’s U17 Head Coach) was held in preparation for the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) U17 Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2025-Qualifier (Group B) to be held October 19 to 27, 2024 in Cambodia. “Ninety plus players joined the tryout Mindanao wide,” said Davao Regional Football Association president Ernesto Ortonio. It was the final phase of a nationwide tryout. More than 100 players also participated in the National Capital Region and Cebu City tryouts held earlier. The final lineup will be known before September 23. The tryout was also conducted by Coach Kent Talam and Coach Patrick Valenzuela of PFF together with Coach Albert Ryan Lim (PFF Youth Development Officer for Mindanao) and assisted by Coach Jessie Gravino, Coach Arman Valencia, Coach Rachelle Delos Reyes, Coach Ruel Sasuman, Coach Alfeche Javellana and Coach Imirlito Polo of Davao Football, and with the special assistance of Calixto Galagar Jr. (Physiotherapist) of Davao City Sports. This Mindanao voluntary tryout was organized by the PFF and was supported by the Mindanao Regional Football Association’s (RFA’s). The said voluntary tryout was one of the major projects of the new PFF President John Anthony Gutierez “This is to derive and aim to see more potential homegrown talents that can compete internationally,” said Gutierez.
